Let me get this straight, you guys aren't dating, you're just really good friends? If so, this guy is SOOOO into you. It sounds like he wants more. To ask if you love him seems like he was going to gauge your answer (maybe use it as a foundation to confess his love for you-or at least ask you out?) Who knows. He's laying it on pretty strong, but I think he wants you to make the first move.
