Can you reuse a condom?

I was wondering if it's possible to turn a condom inside out once you've used it and use it again, or does it make them less efficient? I'm asking because they are pretty expensive and sometimes we run out of them and still wanna have sex with my girlfriend without having to go out and buy some more..
